Introducing 2 Fast Five Events for 2024
Chico Strider Fast Five Youth Track Series
On behalf of the Chico Striders, welcome to the 4th annual Chico Striders Fast Five. Our focus is serving kids in 8th grade and under. The two race series is designed as a friendly and fun day of competition. We also want to provide an atmosphere where the kids can run personal records.

Long Jump:
We will start at 11 AM. The long jump will be rolling throughout the day with the athletes allowed 3 attempts.
Shot Put
Pleasant Valley's throws coach will host a throws clinic for any athletes interested in learning more and giving it a test run.
Running Events:
Starting at 11:00 AM, all races will be timed finals, using the FinishLynx Timing System. Groups will be combined depending on the number of entries. 1600 and 800 will be waterfall starts. Our goal is to seeds kids into appropriate races by gender, age and speed in order to encourage healthy competition and personal records.

Due to a running schedule, please note that there will be a first and second call for each event. All athletes must be checked in by the third call or they will be scratched from that event. Athletes or coaches may check in at any time up to that point.

Cost:
We will be collecting $10 per athlete. Cash or check will be collected on the day of the meet. Checks can be made out to Chico Striders. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Pleasant Valley High School's Track & Field Team.

Beat The Coach Mile
August 24th, 2024 at Cedar Grove in Lower Bidwell Park
Chico Striders will host the Fifth annual Beat The Coach Mile. This is a 1 mile race in Bidwell Park starting and ending at the Cedar Grove Picnic Area. Race starts at 8:30 am - Please arrive by 8 am to pick up your race number.
What athlete doesn't love the chance to beat their coach? The Strider coaches are committed to toeing the line with their athletes in a head to head race once a year. We hope this event will becomes a tradition for our Striders and they come back year after year to accept the challenge to beat us.

Are you a coach of an athletic team? We would love for you and your squad to join us! This event is not limited to runners. We encourage you to use this race to motivate your team to stay active and fit during the summer.
